July – Simplicity
“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” ― Confucius |
I feel like the concept of simplicity has really been popping up a lot for me lately. As a wife, mom, and entrepreneur I am fortunate to wear many hats. At the same time, life can get complex when it comes to managing schedules, preparing for activities, and making sure everyone is taken care of. We live in a very complicated world and are constantly presented with options and decisions. All these things we are faced with can cause us to feel anxious and overwhelmed. Thinking of simplifying our lives can also feel impossible or unattainable. If we break down what seems to feel like a huge task into small steps, we can achieve the goal of simplifying our life in certain areas. Here are a few areas I am choosing to focus on to declutter my life: – I am continually working on what things I should say no to and which activities I would like to say yes to. This act of prioritizing my no’s and yes’s creates time for what is most important to me. I am able to focus my time and energy into my yes activities without feeling guilty about not spending as much time on the activities I should have really said no to. – Fulfillment is an area I struggled with professionally which is what led me to using sound to help me heal. I had a great job with a good company, but I was missing something. My shift in focus to a sound entrepreneur has helped me feel more fulfilled professionally and has also opened avenues to be more balanced in my family life as well. I am still navigating the path of owning my own business, but am learning and growing in new ways I would have every imagine. These two shifts are still a work in progress for me and life continues to evolve, but knowing they are important to me I am able to allow life to happen and then refocus on simplicity. I hope you will join me in finding a couple small ways to refocus and find joy in keeping things in your life simple. Have a beautiful day! Allisa |
