May – Nature

Spending time in nature has been shown to provide both physical and mental health benefits such as improved immune function, lower stress, better mood, and an increase in energy. Being in nature also allows us to disconnect from our every day on the go stresses and planning.
Some simple ways to spend time with nature include:
Going for a walk
Visiting a park
Meditating outside
Sitting by the water
While you are enjoying your time be sure to be mindful and focus on the present moment. Engage all of your senses to be able to take in the sights, sounds, smells, and textures surrounding you.
As summer approaches in WI we have more opportunities to be outside enjoying the beauty that surrounds us. There is also a tendency for our schedules to fill even more. Remember to take care of yourself during this time as well.
